My Qualifications
I completed my undergraduate and first Masters degree in History at the University of Cambridge. I then studied Creative and Life Writing at Goldsmiths, University of London. I am a fully qualified teacher, holding a PGCE degree from the presitigious teaching centre: Roehampton University, and a QTS.
About me
Hi! I specialise in analysing literature, poetry in particular as I am a published poet. I make learning engaging and fun, linking ideas from everyday life to those of classic literature. For instance, did you know that the Lion King II is based on Romeo and Juliet?! I'm a big believer in the fact that education should be enjoyable, but rigorous. The English language is a beautiful beast and there is so much rich vocabulary to choose from so it seems a shame when students are stuck calling things 'nice' or using similes like 'as fast as a cheetah' when there's so much variety on offer. I encourage my students to read widely, introducing them to accessible texts and scaffolding them to their own independent success.
