Daphne

I am a recent graduate of Durham University, achieving a 2:1 in BA (Hons) Criminology, and now work in Savills in their Capital Allowances Consultancy department as an analyst. I completed the International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma in 2019 with higher levels in Mathematics, Chemistry and English. I have had 1 year’s experience tutoring year 7s in Mandarin, as well as having worked in a tuition centre as a curriculum developer and teaching assistant in the summer of 2019. I enjoy teaching piano to beginners and am classically trained, having done my grade 8 ABRSM exam, and am building my repertoire to take on my Trinity diploma ATCL performance examination. I have trained in Muay Thai for 5 years and am passionate about sharing my knowledge for it. I helped out with kids classes at my old gym, making each class both fun and educational. I was also the president of the Muay Thai society at my university, leading 2 classes every week, focusing on basics and foundations, as well as combinations and more advanced sparring techniques.

Hi! My name is Daphne - I’ve had a bit of experience tutoring and working with young people and I’m very excited to get to continue doing so. I taught and helped out in Mathematics classes in a Singapore tuition centre, focusing on GCSE, Additional and IB Standard level maths. My teaching methods include detailed verbal and visual explanations, and getting my student to explain it back to me to ensure they understand the concept wholly, as well as work on specific past paper questions and help with homework. I enjoy teaching maths because it’s a subject I excel in and still use in my job today! I look forward to meeting you!
