Bringing the best out of my students and seeing their boosted grades are central to everything I do. I always make sure my students come out of every lesson more confident, knowledgeable and independent. How? By tailoring the experience to the student's specific learning style and revising information in engaging, creative ways based on a scientifically-proven revision approach. I want to be not only a teacher but also a mentor, and so my inbox is always open to any questions or discussion outside of lessons. Having discussed with the student what they are struggling with most and how they learn most effectively, I usually start by explaining the topic concepts so that students understand the exact context of the information. For me, thoroughly understanding the material and not just rote memorization, is key for applying it to tougher exam questions. I define exactly what examiners will look for in this topic, work on questions with the student and relate it to real-life examples, keeping it interactive and memorable. I then incorporate harder exam board-specific questions so we can perfect their exam technique together.
