I studied at St. Mary's University, Twickenham, where I received a first-degree honour in Primary Education (with QTS and a specialism in SEND). Prior to this I also studied and earned QTLS.

Hi, my name's Reggie, a former soldier turned school teacher. I've been working in education since 2012; my first 10 years were in schools, where I specialised in supporting students of different ages with a whole range of complex special needs. I now work as a full-time tutor, so that I can dedicate my time to 1:1 teaching and support that students require. My students come from a range of backgrounds, whether mainstream or SEN settings; some are catching up on the education they missed during the Covid lockdown, or have a few gaps here and there, others lack self-confidence at school and need a boost, whereas others have more complex needs and benefit from home-schooling and a personalised timetable in conjunction with their needs. My teaching methods change with every student; I meet everyone, and as we get to know one another, and build trust and the relationship, I find out which methods work best for each student. I do not agree with the typical 'sink or swim' approach applied by most schools, I will deliver lesson content at the speed at which each individual student is able to absorb the information. There is no point in me racing through a curriculum and students not having the chance to process the information, ask questions or take the information on board. Instead, delivery will be paced to allow students to break down information, ask questions, problem-solve and make progress at the appropriate level and speed for them. They will be stretched, challenged and pushed, yet they will 'swim' and not 'sink'.
