PhD-Aerospace Engineering MSc-Aerospace Engineering BSc-Mechatronics Engineering

Born and raised in Pakistan, I moved to the UK at the age of 21 with career aspirations, in aerospace engineering, after having completed my BSc in Mechatronics Engineering from Pakistan Air Force Chartered Air University. Standing 4th in the batch of 60 students I then pursued MSc in Aerospace Engineering from QMUL, London with distinction and Principle’s Prize for ‘outstanding academic achievement’. Subsequently, I was awarded a full scholarship at Cardiff University to study a PhD in Aerospace Engineering under the President’s Research Scholarship program which I completed in 2015 being awarded the PhD Degree in 2016. In 2014, I commenced a second PhD in Weapons Engineering with Cranfield University which unfortunately could not be completed due to work commitments but resulted in a publication. During my Cardiff PhD I also held, Project Assistantship at ASTUTE (Advanced Sustainable Manufacturing Technologies) at Swansea University. My main work in this job role involved, liaising with small to medium subsidiaries, solving their engineering problems in short weeks and timeframes. Some project lasted about few days only. Subsequently, I also had the privilege to work on Airbus Project TOICA (Thermal Overall Integration of Aircraft) as a Research Assistant, at the Engineering Design Centre at Cambridge University where I worked with in house tools to develop codes for the project. During this time I also had the opportunity to represent Cambridge University in EASA Conference in Manchester University with my peers from Airbus Toulouse and Airbus UK. In 2016, I worked briefly for ONCAMPUS Coventry, teaching engineering maths and physics to international foundation students. After joining Coventry University Group in 2016, I have led various modules for BEng Electro Mechanical Degree including mechanical, electrical and control systems. Currently, the BEng Degree course is getting accredited by IET in near future. During my six years with CU Coventry I have worked collaboratively with other colleagues to develop module System Operation and Control Project, and delivered enormous teaching of 720 hours per year. I have professionally developed myself during this time as well, whilst getting professionally chartered as Chartered Engineer with Imeche and obtaining Fellowship of Higher Education Academy. I attach my certificates for both memberships. Outside of CU Coventry, I also had the opportunity to develop short term curriculum for ONCAMPUS Aston for International Year One, these comprised Maths for Computing, Engineering Mathematics, Maths for Civil Engineers, and Mathematical modelling for mechanical engineering. This comprised weekly presentations and assessment writing. I have immense expertise in developing degree curriculum, suitable to all engineering disciplines, which demonstrates my ability and willingness to continue to update knowledge and expertise and contribute to innovation and development in any discipline or area of specialism.
